We had the incredible honor and opportunity to perform at The Abbey this week. The Abbey is one of the top outdoor cocktail and dining places to experience in LA, and boasts a two-time MTV LOGO award for Best Gay Bar in the World! We were thrilled to have been asked to perform there, and the night went better than possibly expected. This was our first major LA performance, although we got warmed up last month at “Hard Werk Tuesdays” in West Hollywood as well, performing our single Tear Me Down.
It took months of prep and hard work to get to where we are now, but wow it was worth it! Here is a little sneak peek into the process leading up to our show:
1. Practice, practice, practice!
We have the privilege of working with an amazing choreographer and person, Michael Silas. You may recognize him as one of the four main dancers from Lady Gaga’s “Haus of Gaga” (2008-2011). He is incredibly passionate and pushes us to our limits, while making us laugh… and smile. This is what he recently wrote about us on his Instagram:
In rehearsal with @DANCESTASH and I must say these 2 ladies have a gift that’s so inspiring to be around. It’s a humbling experience to be their choreographer! And it doesn’t hurt they bring the best snacks to rehearsal! Lol#ItalianBlackTruffleAlmonds was today’s choice! Omg so good…now back to rehearsal”
Here we are at rehearsal in December having some fun… and there’s Michael in the background!
In rehearsal exercising our creativity, yes with obligatory selfies 🙂
2. Radio Appearances
In order to promote our show and help people get to know us better, we’ve started going on a few radio shows. On Monday, we were invited to be a guest on Playboy radio! We met some incredible people and it definitely got us pumped up and inspired for our big show. On top of that, we also debuted at #36 on the Billboard Pop Indicator Chart this week! What a crazy week it’s been…
3. Final Rehearsals
This was taken on Tuesday. Our last rehearsal! #FeelinIt
4. The show itself!
We went on a midnight, and the crowd was amazing. We sang our hearts out as confetti rained down.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to our show and to those who support us in other ways! We are so excited and humbled to begin the next phase of our journey as STASH with live performances. Stay tuned!
